The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration of engaging in subterfuge to explain away the issue surrounding its concealment, re-bagging and rebranding of the Federal Government's trailer-loads of the rice meant for citizens of the state.
According to the Osun State APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in his response to the flat alibi of the state government in a poorly-written rebuttal, through the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, today, stated that the caveat defied logic in the estimation of the right-thinking members of the society.
Lawal queried the state government why, in the first instance, was the delivery and quantity of the exposed Federal Government's rice palliative not disclosed to those it was meant for on arrival several weeks ago?
He explained that Governor Adeleke and his co-travellers are only trying to be clever by half by frivolously taking to afterthought, which has shown the dubious intention of his government.
The state APC chairman said initially, some people, especially the PDP apologists, members and e-rats thought that we did not have our fact on the issue of the concealed palliative rice sent to the state by the Federal Government to reduce the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.
In Lawal's words: "Assuming without conceding that Governor Adeleke had bought an additional portion to the rice palliatives before it is distributed as it was advanced in the government's watery statement, should the inscription of the photograph and name of the state executive be the reason why the people should be denied what's theirs as and when due?
"The raging story of denial and delay on the exposed concealed palliative rice borders on the fact that Governor Adeleke and his co-travellers in government are wicked, insensitive and without empathy who feel unconcerned for the governed.
"If not for our political dexterity ever propelled by metaphorical Eagle eye, how would the people of the state had known that their Federal Government's rice palliatives had since arrived the state, being re-bagged and re-branded at a secret location in the state?
"Now that Governor Adeleke has been caught red handed on the issue of the concealed rice palliatives, he has to tender his apology to the people of the state and without further delay, engage in the distribution of the rice palliatives to those it is meant for in the state.
"We thank the people of the state for identifying with us on this saga while we are also promising them that we shall always be on hand to keep them posted on how and why they should not be shortchanged by the Adeleke administration", the state APC chairman assured.
