After Losing One of His Oloris, Owa Obokun Pens Down An Emotionally Laden Tribute...Read

The funeral service of Olori Olanike Motunrayo Aromolaran, second wife of His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR; LLD, the Owa Obokun and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland took place at the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Otapete Cathedral Ilesa, Osun State yesterday.

Below is the text of the tribute of Kabiyesi Oba Adekunle Aromolaran in respect of his late wife.

"I used to say in those days that "silence is golden", so what do you expect me to say? I remember Williams Shakespeare "the world is a stage and all men and women are players. They have their exits and their entrances, and in his lifetime a man plays many parts". This means that Olori Olanike Aromolaran has finished playing her parts!

"When my daughter Dr. Adefunke Adesina asked me as to whether I will like to write a condolence message in respect of her late mother. The question I asked was whether it was necessary or not because I have never lost an Olori in my life.

"Secondly, the Ijesa tradition and custom still remains that " OWA OBOKUN KII SOFO" which means "OWA OBOKUN DOES NOT MOURN". However, the deed has been done no doubt and Olori Olanike Motunrayo Aromolaran has gone to the world beyond to be with her Creator.

"I wish all her children, grandchildren, Siblings and all manners of people connected with her in one way or the other long life and prosperity. And also the strength and courage to bear the heavy irreparable loss in Jesus name.

"MAY God Almighty forgive all her shortcomings and grant her Soul eternal repose.

" Adieu! Mama Adefunke

"I still remain your husband"
