A man was arrested in Okeaayo street, Ilesa East local government, Osun State for allegedly vandalizing and stealing cables from a transformer in the community early Thursday morning.
The transformer house is located near late Adedara Arihunra house. Before his arrest, he had cut off cables from the transformer.
The suspect was arrested with pliers and saw blades after the residents of the area raised alarm, and the youths came out KAKAKIOODUA learnt from a video posted on Ijesa TV news telegram platform.
Osun Amotekun operatives arrived the scene of the crime after receiving a distress call and attempted to take custody of the apprehended suspect but the residents insisted on awaiting the arrival of IBEDC officials to ascertain the level of damage done to the transformer before carrying him away.
The suspect confessed that he came from Ijebujesa.
