The Owaloko of Iloko-ijesa, Oba Akeem Ogungbangbe has expressed that the people of Ijesa descent have common interests and should be unified as he appreciated the trending sense of brotherhood and collaboration among the people.
Owaloko made the remark on Friday when the 2021 Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee's members visited him in his palace.
Speaking on the aspirations of Ijesa people Owaloko Ogungbangbe referred to himself as a Pan-Ijesa person that has being participating keenly at the annual celebration of the Iwude Ijesa festival since 2008.
"Anything that will affect Ijesa unity is not in my own best interest." He declared.

Oba Akeem Ogungbangbe will be be the Royal Guest of Honor at the final match of the Iwude Ijesa Unity Soccer Cup that will take place on Friday 17th December, 2021 at Ilesa Grammar School's football field. The grand finale of the celebration of 2021 of the festival comes up on Saturday 18th December.
The annual Iwude Ijesa festival is month-long festival that starts in the palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland in Ilesa and extends to other parts of Ijesaland.
