GOVERNOR OYETOLA VISITS SEGILOLA MINING SITES




 


Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the state of Osun on Monday made a Facility tour to Segilola Mining Sites located in Iperindo/Odo-Ijesa of Atakunmosa East Local Government area of the state.


Governor Oyetola who disclosed that the state has the largest indigenous mining site in Nigeria commended the brilliant young Nigerians for attaining these feats.


He was particularly very impressed and promised that he will continue to support the company to see that they are not frustrated on the project. 




The governor also used the opportunity to implored all that are interested in gold mining business especially, the young minds to come and partner with the state government of Osun. 


He commended the cordial relationship that exist between the company and the host communities.


Earlier, The Chief Executive Officer, Segilola resources operating limited, Mr. Segun Lawson had explained major components on the mining site for smooth running of operations which includes Plans for emergency evacuation, Fire Wardens, well stored and equipped staff clinic with competent heath officials, external relationship with Federal Fire Service, Ilesa, Westland Iperindo, conveniences, protective gear among others.


Mr. Lawson also mentioned that the management discourage distractions by its workers while on duty such as use mobile phones, and all Covid 19 protocols are intact.


The CEO further explained that the company has given scholarship to 23 students which comprises 13 from tertiary institutions, plus Empowerment for women with Refrigerators and Grinding machines with market expansion.


He added that the company quarterly host meetings with the community.




The governor later tour the mining sites and he was shown samples of raw gold from the site.





In company of Mr. Governor to the mining sites were Deputy governor, Mr. Benedict Alabi, Secreatary to the state government, Prince Wole Oyebanji, An elder state man and a former Chief of Army staff Lt General, Alani Ipoola Akinrinade rtd, Chief of staff to the Governor, Dr. Charles Akinola and his deputy, Prince Abdullah Binuyo, Head of service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade, Special Adviser on General Administration, Mr. Niyi Idowu, Chief Press Ssecretary to the Governor, Mr. Ismaheel Omipidan, the Caretaker Chairman of Atakumosa East Local Government, Princess Folusho Adekoya, among others.
