Owa Obokun Reads Riot Act on Ere-Ijesa Traditional Stool... Elites Rally Round Elere... Renovate Palace...Talk on Purposeful Youth Engagement






The Paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Obokun Adimula, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II on Friday October 6, 2023, read riot act on the traditional title of Elere of Ere-Ijesa, warning that the ancient town is a settlement of Owa Obokun and it is a prince of Owa that is entitled to the throne. 




Oba Adekunle Aromolaran was represented by his High Chiefs that included  Oba-Odo, High Chief Oluwabusuyi Gbadamosi, Arowaji, High Chief Alesinloye Ola and Losare of Isare, High Chief Oluwaseun Balogun as Ere-Ijesa community of Oriade local government in Osun State played host to her daughters and sons that hold power to influence the direction of the community.

Addressing the distinguished group of indigenous Ere-Ijesa sons and daughters which enjoy privileged status and exercise decisive control with power and influence over the organization of their community, and indigenes of the town including chiefs, men, women and youths, High Chief Gbadamosi reiterated that the Owa Obokun-In-Council are fully in support of Oba Augustine Adenipekun Alowolodu, the Elere of Ere-Ijesa. 







The Elites group led by Otunba (Sir) Ademola Aladekomo were in Ere-Ijesa to sensitize the youth on the Importance of giving respect to the elders and a lecture cum interactive session on Moving Youth out of poverty delivered by  Prof. Muctar Oluwafemi Abanikannda.

They include political, business, religious, judicial, labour, cultural, bureaucratic (civil service), military, academic/intelligentsia elites such as Mr. Olutise & Mrs Aduke Adenipekun, Magistrate Abiodun Adepeju, Mr. Niyi Agboola SAN,  Mr Adebayo Adenipekun SAN, Prof. Gbenga Akingbehin, Prof. Bukola Oyawoye, Prof. Oyewole Ajifolokun, Prof. Foluke Dada, Ven. Segun Burahimo, ACP Taiwo Akingbehin, Barr. Tunde Burahimo, Dr. Adebisi Alo, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, Mr. Olufemi Bewaji, Mr Bunmi Bewaji and Mr Bayo Bewaji (Bailord), to mention just a few.




Dr. Wale Bolorunduro while speaking on his intervention on Ere-Ijesa youth empowerment recalled how he couldn't see anyone from Ere-Ijesa for JAMB preparation lessons even when he was prepared to pay for the lessons, pay for their daily transport fares  and  purchase of the JAMB forms !





      

Owaloloko of Iloko-Ijesa Oba Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, who is the Chairman of Ijesa North Traditional Rulers' Council in his goodwill message rejoiced with Elere of Ere-Ijesa, appreciate the organizers.of the program for employing "homegrown solution to solve homegrown problem" as he bashed the involvement of some parents in supporting their wards in fraudulent activities known as Yahoo-Yahoo and lashed out on politicians using the youth for political gains. He advised the Ere-Ijesa youths and Ijesa youths in general to make good use of the Ijesa Digital Hub located inside Oladele Olashore International School, Iloko-Ijesa.

The Elegboro of Ijebu Jesa, Oba (Engr.) Olufemi Agunsoye also congratulated the entire Ere-Ijesa community for being blessed with illustrious sons and daughters as he advised the youths of the town to make use of the good opportunities at their disposal.







The highlight of the program also included royal procession to the renovated palace, unveiling of the palace royal seats and paying of homage to the Elere of Ere-Ijesa by his chiefs and all sons and daughters of the town.


Some other traditional rulers that were at the occasion included Olura of Ira, Aladoko of Idoko, Oniwoye of Iwoye-Ijesa, Alawowo of Awowo, Olodogo of Odogo-Ijesa, Alahun of Ilahun-Ijesa and Olowena of Owena-Ijesa.


Hon. Taiwo Adeyekun, Chairman Oriade local government was represented by his Vice, Hon. Mrs. Gbelee who emphasized on efforts of Hon. Oluwole Oke and Sen. Adenigba Fadahunsi's interventions at employing some youths of the local government gainfully.
