This December is billed to be very captivating and unforgettable in Ilesa. The Ijesa national anthem that has started to make the wave at all social functions in Ijesaland prepares to premiere it's latest video version.
As the excitement builds for the first of it's kind Ijesa Unity Carnival expected to hold on Sunday 22nd of December, Ilesa metropolis has started to witness the arrival of Ijesa sons and daughters from the diaspora, Saturday the 21st is scheduled to feature the Public Presentation of Ijesa National Anthem on Video.
The Ijesa National Anthem which was launched in December 2020 with the support of Ijesa Development Council (IDC) and Ijesa People in Diaspora Foundation (IPID-F) has now been developed into video format.
The video, which boasts the participation of great and distinguished Ijesamen features the participation of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Asiwaju of Ijesaland and Chief Akinwande Akinola, Sawe of Ilesa, among others.
In a chat with KAKAKIOODUA, Prince Abiodun Lufadeju, the composer of the anthem remarked that the event scheduled to hold at the Gold City Events Centre, Iloko Junction, Ilesa.starting by 3pm will be great in its historic significance for the preservation of Ijesa values and tradition for the future..
In 2020 Abiodun Lufadeju made history with his composition of Ijesa anthem, a remarkable feat that has since gained popularity.
"The initiative to produce the video version was prompted by Baba Sawe in December 2023 when he called me and told me to begin work on the Video edition of the Ijesa Anthem before the Pyrates take it on! There and then I went into action.
"The musical video production features Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi, Baba Sawe and Dr. Dipo Folorunsho of IDC amongst others. This will serve as one of the activities to spice up this Christmas Season." Lufadeju said
