Clarifying the Bilaro Ruling House's Structure

The Fajemisin Family has written a letter to key stakeholders, including the Bilaro Ruling House, Ijeshaland Kingmakers, and Osun State Government, to address the widespread misunderstanding surrounding the Bilaro Ruling House's structure. The letter provides valuable insight into the history and dynamics of the ruling house.

Historical Background

The Bilaro Ruling House has a rich history and cultural significance. However, the misunderstanding surrounding its structure has led to confusion and disputes. To clarify the issues, the Fajemisin Family references the pivotal 1958 Chieftaincy Committee meeting held at Obokungbusi Hall, Ilesha, on January 9, 1958.

The Structure of the Bilaro Ruling House

The Bilaro Ruling House is comprised of two branches:

1. _The Ofokutu Descendants_: This branch includes the Haastrup Family.

2. _The Liyinta Adejuyigbe Descendants_: This branch includes the Fajemisin Family.

Liyinta Adejuyigbe, a direct descendant of Owa Bilaro Oluodo, was ritually sacrificed for the sake of peace on the land. Despite being the Crown Prince during his lifetime, he has remained un-honoured to date. The Adejuyigbe lineage of the House of Bilaro has produced no Owa, while the Ofokutu lineage has produced three.

A Call to Action

The Fajemisin Family is advocating for their turn to produce an Owa monarch. They believe it is time to "repair the fracture in the popular truth thus rendering justice." The family's letter has sparked interest and discussion among stakeholders, with many welcoming their initiative to clarify the traditional misunderstanding.

The clarification of the Bilaro Ruling House's structure is essential for the smooth operation of the ruling house and the overall well-being of Ijeshaland. As the Bilaro Ruling House continues to play a vital role in the cultural and traditional affairs of Ijeshaland and Osun State, the Fajemisin Family's letter serves as a timely reminder of the importance of understanding and respecting the institution's structure and traditions.
