In an exclusive interview with The Mogjournals, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muideen Olaniyi Azeez, the Elegbedi of Egbedi Kingdom, made a passionate call for help from Nigerians, alleging that his community is under siege by powerful forces attempting to seize their ancestral land.
“Timi of Ede Wants to Forcefully Take Our Land with Government Backing”
“The Timi of Ede, with the backing of Governor Adeleke’s administration, is trying to forcefully take over this land that rightfully belongs to Egbedi Kingdom. Despite the court’s clear ruling that both parties should stay away until the case is concluded, they ignored the order and came with government officials, causing mayhem in my kingdom.”
The king expressed his pain and disappointment, stating that history must not be erased.
“Let me remind Nigerians and the good people of Osun State—Egbedi is the original landlord of Ede. It was my ancestors who hosted Timi Agbale to settle in Ede. Now, they want to use the power of the state government to take what belongs to us. This is injustice!”
A Call for Urgent Intervention
Oba Elegbedi is now calling on the Federal Government of Nigeria, traditional rulers, and all well-meaning Nigerians to intervene before the situation escalates further.
“I am crying out for help. This is an attempt to use government influence to rob us of our ancestral land. The people of Egbedi should not suffer this injustice. I urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Inspector General of Police, and all traditional rulers to intervene immediately!”
As tensions remain high in Egbedi, the question now is—will justice prevail, or will political power overshadow the rule of law? Nigerians are watching.
