Why Osun NLC, NULGE Risk Implosion Over Reinstated Council Chairmen - APC ...Appeals To Obas To Intervene

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of mischievously and selfishly using divide and rule to cause disaffection among the striking local government council workers in the state.

It would be recalled that the leaderships of the organized labour union strangely pitched their tent with the ruling administration of Governor Adeleke since the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure on the 10th February, 2025 reinstated the APC local government council chairmen and councillors sacked by the governor through one of his obnoxious executive orders, pretending to be acting on the order of the court.

The leadership of the organized labour in Osun State has been issuing political statements and granting interviews on the electronic, print and online media where the body has become the spokesman doing a yeoman job for the Peoples Democratic Party PDP-led administration in the state by way of propaganda.

Available information has shown that some of the top ranking labour leaders in the state are feeding fat from the crumbs from the table of the ruling government as they are smiling to the banks periodically for their unusual blind support of the government against the reinstatement of the council chairmen and councillors by the Court of Appeal.

It was also reliably gathered that while the organized labour leaderships in the state under the nomenclatures of the NLC and the National Union of Local Government Employers(NULGE) are holding regular meetings with a pointman of the Adeleke dynasty in Ede which have become a channel for dolling out wads of pecuniary instruments to them, their unsuspecting teeming members are wallowing in hunger, penury and deprivation in the various corners of their rooms across the state.

A reliable fact check also confirmed that the family of the governor in Ede has promised to continue to come to the financial aid of the leaderships of the organized labour as long as they choose to be willing tools in the frustration of the Court of Appeal judgement that reinstated the APC chairmen and councillors.

It was this monetary largesse being constantly enjoyed by the leaderships of the organized labour which gave birth to a fabricated story of a failed attempt to abduct one of the labour leaders in the state recently in order to fraudulently curry sympathy for the politically-partisan labour leaderships in the state.

It was this strange and untoward running of the labour activities by its political leaderships in the state that prompted some of the right-thinking members of the job-shunning union to begin to ask questions about the propriety of the latent and patent actions and inactions of their leaders who have mortgaged their interest for their own selfish benefit.

Information also has it that several meetings are ongoing in the state among some of the prominent stakeholders of the organized labour unions who saw no reason in pauperizing the the teeming members of the NULGE while the leaderships of the body are smiling to the banks.

A fact check also confirmed that some of the right-thinking members of the union are querying the rationale in some Heads of the Local Government Administration in the state who engage in the swearing in of some of the illegal councillors in the private homes of some of the notable leaders of the PDP across the state.

It was also authoritatively confirmed that all the Heads of the Local Government Administration in the state have been given N1 million  mouth-watering tip each in addition to promises by their political compass in Ede.

Our investigation also revealed that each of the illegal local government council chairmen has been given N500,000:00K in two tranches making a total of N1 million each while their vices had collected N300,000:00K and each of the councillors coasted home  with N100,000:00K from the state government kitty effectively operating from the country home of the governor in Ede.

The directive handed over to the illegal public council officials was to be operating from any quarters in which their local government council of origin falls and be meeting some prominent members in the communities.

Our disposition to the development is to impress it on the stakeholders in the local government council administration in the state to have a rethink and desist from actions and inactions capable of bringing back the development of the state in line with the vision of its founding fathers.

It is unthinkable, disheartening and wicked that while the leadership of the NULGE and the NLC are illegally directing their staff to embrace shunning of work, the HLAs are working and collecting money for their services being carried out in the Ede country home of the Adelekes or the fortified Government House or the houses/hotels of some leaders of the PDP in the state.

We want to  appeal to the good people of Osun State and the traditional council of  Obas and Chiefs to help  prevail on the leadership of the union on the need to maintain neutrality in the current political development in the state as their toeing transactional path over the areas where they are supposed to be neutral will cause undue hardship to the people
