His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, Owa Obokun Adimula the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland has painstakingly completed the traditional pre-coronation rites after spending 90 days in seclusion (also know as Ipebi) at the Ogboni of Ilesa, Ereja quarters.
Ajimoko III, who entered into seclusion on Thursday 24th of January 2025 after completing after series of mandatory rites involving Igbo Ikin where he was the Looja, Igbadae, Ibokun, Leemodu quarters at Ilemo and Ile Imorisa at Oke Emese, emerged from seclusion night of Monday/Tuesday April 21/22 during a curfew imposed on the whole of Ilesa from 5pm of Monday to 8am of Tuesday.

Ajimoko III left Ogboni Quarters, accompanied by High Chief Saka Fapohunda, Ogboni of Ilesa and various traditional priests to a point where he was handed over to Loro of Ilesa, High Chief Olalekan Folorunso who led the procession to the Loro Quarters. What followed was an all night cultural cum traditional event that involved rites and sacrifices such as, going to "Igbo Iwesi" in Odo Iro to for spiritual cleansing, wearing of the Crown for the first time.
The night procession involving some other High Chiefs like Odole, Risawe, Arapate, Agbayewa, Salua, the Aare Oke, the Aare Odo, Elegbe, Omode Owa, and Elegbaaji, the Aworo Orisas including Petelua, Sagburin and traditional priests who played specific roles over the night into the early morning wherein some symbolic presentations of paraphernalia of office were made to the new King wearing the Isebaye crown until he was finally ushered to the ancient Oke Emese palace.
The ceremony marked the culmination of the traditional rites, which are an integral part of the coronation process.
The 90-day seclusion period was a time of spiritual preparation and introspection for the Owa Obokun Adimula, during which he was groomed for his new role as the custodian of the Ijesaland culture and traditions.
Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III successful completion of the pre-coronation rites is seen as a testament to his commitment to upholding the traditions and cultural heritage of Ijesaland.
Ijesa sons and daughters at home and abroad, people of Osun State and Nigeria in general look forward to his leadership in promoting the development and prosperity of Ijesaland as he settles into his new role.
