The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it has been vindicated by its persistent outcries that the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the state does not mean well for the socio-political and economic development of the state beyond being a vampire.
The fact remains that Osun State is undergoing a precarious situation in its anal of history as the developmental stride of the state has been suffering a great deal under the minimalist administration of Governor Adeleke for over two years running.
There is hardly a sector in the state which has not tasted from the horrible, vindictive and draconian approach of the embattled governor to governance which is an attestation to the overburdened universally accepted cliche that it is pretty impossible for one to give what he does not possess.
The plight of Governor Adeleke in government has been one misstep after the other which has subsequently translated to the exposure of the innocent people of the state to avoidable suffering of hardships in different forms.
If Governor Adeleke is not humiliating the judiciary by constantly failing to embrace the rule of law as it was witnessed in his bungled efforts to sack the state Chief Judge contrary to the laid down procedure for such exercise as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria( CFRN), he would be exposing to ridicule revered traditional rulers in the state as it was witnessed with his sordid handling of the legally enthroned traditional rulers of Ikirun, Iree and Igbajo which the court is now reversing.
When we cried to the public that Governor Adeleke was ill-prepared for the governance of a complex state like Osun, some naysayers thought such criticisms were borne out of sheer hatred as his over two years administration in the state has brought monumental catastrophic incidents which were firsts of their kinds in the history of the state.
We observe that the efforts of Governor Adeleke in government have got to the limit of his ability and capability which is the reason it is inevitable for him to give way to a competent hand that would be elected from the progressives' camp through the next year's election.
We sympathize with the residents of Aduramigba community in Ido-Osun area of the state for having a taste of the copious acts of mis-governance being felt across the nooks and crannies of the state.
It is disheartening to observe that the embattled state Governor Adeleke's poor job had elicited the staging of a protest on Friday by the people of Aduramigba community who witnessed a bizarre act of a tarred road that was washed away by rainfall just one day after its completion of the substandard job.
Information has it that the road which runs from the Trade Fair Complex to Ido-Osun junction to Adeleke Estate via Aduramigba was tarred on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 but it was completely washed away after a rainfall on Thursday, May 15th, 2025.
It was also learnt that the road was approved to be stone-based but was instead constructed using laterite which is a cheaper and less durable material.
We are of the view and conviction that it is the duty of the state government to ensure that the identity of the contractor is exposed and investigated with a view to ensuring that he is held accountable and that the road is properly reconstructed by using proper standard materials.
There is need for the innocent people of the state to be wary of the use of the so-called developmental projects of this incompetent administration to avert looming disaster as life has no duplicate.
We have been vindicated when we were shouting on the top of our voice as the most potent opposition party in the state that some of the contracts of the flyovers in the state were given to fertilizer distributors who are not qualified to turn in a good job.
