The Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup (Ajimoko III), has reaffirmed his commitment to the preservation and promotion of Ijesa culture, describing Ijesaland as a region with immense cultural potential.
Speaking during the Ijesa Music and Cultural Day, one of the major events marking his coronation ceremony, Owa Haastrup commended the organizers for their outstanding efforts.
“This event has reassured me that we truly have immense cultural potential in Ijesaland,” the monarch said. “With God’s help, I am fully committed to supporting every initiative that aims to preserve and project our rich heritage. We have a great opportunity to showcase who we are as Ijesa people.”
The Owa Obokun noted that the Ijesa Music and Cultural Day went far beyond his expectations, describing it as a strong indication of the people's readiness to preserve their traditions and values for future generations.
The event, which featured traditional music, dance and displays of Ijesa cultural identity, drew dignitaries including traditional rulers, cultural enthusiasts, government representatives, and members of Ijesa community.
