UNILESA Poor Road Construction Contract, Manifestation Of Inept Leadership - Osun APC Slams Adeleke

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dragged Governor Ademola Adeleke over the poor state of execution of developmental projects in the state, stating that the cacophonous achievements of his administration are a mere ruse which are condemnable in the court of the public.

There is no way a government with such a lackadaisical approach to governance especially the so-called developmental projects that it would have a record that would outlive one term tenure of four years of such administration.

Last week, it was the turn of Aduragbemi community in the ancient town of Ido-Osun in the Egbedore Local Government Council Area of Osun State to have a taste of the bite of the shoddy governance of Governor Adeleke by the way of a poor construction/rehabilitation of a road  project which was washed away by the rainfall a day after its completion and delivery.

Surprisingly, the orbit of the act of mis-governance which is the hallmark of the PDP-run administration in the state has moved to the University of Ilesa(UNILESA) founded by the immediate-past Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, now maiden Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

Verifiable and confirmed information depicted that there is no any other name for the quality of the road construction being effected on the campus of the new university but extremely poor as the poor standard of the construction of the inner campus road is pungently manifesting even to the recognition of laymen to the consternation of the right-thinking members of the society.

The pathetic road projects at Aduragbemi in Ido-Osun and the UNILESA are mere examples of what the so-called Governor Adeleke poor projects are across the state which is the sheer waste of the scarce resources of the state by an incompetent government which has been running the affairs of the state by instinct rather than planning.

Our observation as a party is that the contractors handling the poorly handled road projects who are chieftains of the PDP are cashing in on the lack of the administrative know-how of the governor to cash out by executing extremely substandard jobs which have become an incurable albatross to this rudderless administration running a minimalist government.

This is the  poor resultant effect of a government which ineffective chief executive combines the sensitive ministry of works with his cabinet which is crying for attention because of deficit of required attributes to function effectively in both public and private offices.

We cannot recall when the so-called commissioner for works in the state whose reason for combining the ministry with his own constitutionally allowed office of the governor is penchant to make extra dough, had visited any construction site in the state.

There is no way one can combine two businesses and one will not suffer which is the reason it is an impossible utopia for the governor to combine entertainment with governance and such a lacuna as it is the order of the day in the government in the state will not be the unenviable outcome.

All we are craving for is the judicious spending of the common patrimony of the state while it is also our conviction which has been proven wrong that over two years are more than enough time for a government which has something to offer to make a difference rather than turning our dear state to a laboratory.

The kernel of our message is that the contractors handling the poor road contract job at UNILESA should hurriedly go back to site and do the work that is commensurate with his charges in line with the globally acceptable standard.
