IS ADELEKE DEFECTING?: Concerned Citizen Writes Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,

I know some people in your government have been disturbing and lying to you, about the political power of the Adeleke family in Ede.

Judging by history, after the late Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke defeated Dosu Oladipo through a runoff in a very controversial election in 1991, he never returned to the governorship seat till his demise in 2017.

Yes, before his death, the late Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke served two terms in the Senate 2007 - 2011 and 2015 - 2017, but he was never governor again.

Let me now tell you, Sir: the late Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke studied Political Science in the USA. He was well known and popular. Even though politics was his specialty, he found it difficult—until his eternal exit—to govern Osun again after the 1993 saga.

It’s simple. Unlike how you have a firm grip on Lagos, Osun State is not for the Adelekes.

Firstly, in 1999, Baba Akande defeated the late Isiaka Adeleke by a wide margin. And out of his desperation, he obtained the Senate ticket again: Senator Fajimi defeated him by a wide margin also.

The late Isiaka Adeleke crossed over to the PDP in 2002 with the hope of securing the governorship ticket, but Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola defeated him in the PDP primary held in Osogbo and Ibadan. He was later compensated with a Senate ticket in 2007.

In 2011, as a sitting senator, the late Isiaka Adeleke contested against Senator Mudasiru Hussein, but Hussein defeated him by a wide margin.

In 2014, Senator Otunba Iyiola Omisore defeated the late Isiaka Adeleke in the PDP primary, prompting his defection to the APC, where Aregbesola compensated him with a Senate ticket.

By 2018, before his death, it had become glaring that the late Isiaka Adeleke would not be given the governorship ticket under the APC. That was why he aligned with the Saraki team and began preparing to move to a new party.

We all know what transpired during the 2022 election. We all know why the APC lost that election. I would rather not delve into that, Sir.

But as a political student under your tutelage, Your Excellency, if Demola Adeleke is given the APC ticket in 2026 without your backing, Sir, he will lose to any candidate the ADC presents—because the PDP is already dead.

The party is hated by the people because of the profligacy of their leaders. After duping over 32,000 job applicants of their hard-earned money through teacher's recruitment, no single teacher has been employed in three years.

No health worker has been employed in three years. Schools fees are far beyond the hand of the average citizen.

In UNILESA, students must pay N1.5 million every year to study law. N1.3 million to study Nursing.

No scholarship. No student loan except NELFUND activated by your administration.

Osun people are miffed, distraught and unhappy. They can't wait for 2026 to come to kick out the bumbling governor.

Thank you, Sir.
