Ondo Police confirm death of DPO following sudden illness

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Kajola Police Station, Odigbo Local Government Area, CSP Nimrod Anaka.


Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olushola, confirmed the senior officer’s death, but did not disclose further details regarding the circumstances.


“I can confirm that the DPO (Anaka) has died, but it’s only medical expert that can confirm what caused his death.


“His age and indigene will be made known to the public later,” Ayanlade said.


Sources revealed that the DPO had reportedly developed a sudden illness and passed away on his way to a hospital for treatment on Tuesday.


His death has plunged officers at the Kajola Police Station into mourning.


It was also learnt that his remains have been deposited at a mortuary.
