Osun APC Governorship Aspirants Swell as SAN joins race

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kunle Adegoke, on Monday declared his intention to contest the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, promising to build an economy that can thrive with or without federal allocations.

Speaking at the APC Secretariat in Osogbo, Adegoke said his decision was driven by the need to address the state’s economic challenges, which he described as unenviable. He pledged a total re-engineering of Osun’s economic structure to harness both natural and human resources.

The legal practitioner revealed that his preparations for the role began in 2011 when he first conceived the idea of becoming governor. He said land management and agricultural reforms would be central to his plans for transforming the state.

“I have been working to ensure that land management and an agricultural revolution are brought to bear in Osun. We will reinvent our financial policies so the state can survive with or without allocations from the federal government,” he stated.

According to him, his team had already developed strategies to implement developmental economic policies that would boost growth and sustainability in the state.

Adegoke assured party members that he would remain committed to the APC regardless of the outcome of the primaries, pledging to support the party’s candidate to secure victory.

He expressed optimism that the APC, with the quality of its aspirants and the achievements of President Bola Tinubu at the federal level, would defeat Governor Ademola Adeleke “flat” in the 2026 poll.

The declaration event drew party leaders, members, and supporters who pledged their backing for Adegoke’s ambition.
