Planning committee roles out consecration program for the Ilesa South West Diocese bishop-elet

The planning committee for the bishop-elect of Ilesa South West Diocese, the Very Revd Adebola Ayodeji Ojofeitimi consecration ceremony has finalized the program and is ready to roll it out.

A statement by the Enthronement Logistics and Publicity Committee Chairman, Baba Oba Tony Igbaroola, revealed that the Enthronement will be the height of a beehive of activities which are being planned by the Bishopscourt Renovations and Arrivals Committee details of which are as follows:

1. Thursday, 25th September 2025
- Arrival: Meeting the Bishop @ Gate of the University of Ilesa with Fanfare
- Arrival Service @ Holy Trinity Cathedral, Omofe
- Courtesy Visit to Bishops of Ijesa Anglican Dioceses
(Ilesa, Ijesa North and Ijesa North East)

2. Friday, 26th September 2025
- Continuation of Visit to Bishops of Ijesa Anglican Dioceses (Ilesa,   Ijesa   North   and Ijesa North
East)
- 4.00 pm - Enthronement Rehearsal at the Cathedral

3. Saturday, 27th September 2025
- The Enthronement Service at 11am
- Reception follows immediately at the designated venue

4. Sunday, 28th Thanksgiving at the Cathedral @ 10am.

Date of the courtesy visit to the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup will be announced soon.

The Bishop Elect, Ilesa South West Diocese, the Very Revd Adebola Ayodeji Ojofeitimi a "homeboy" is becoming Lord Bishop of his home diocese and to be headquartered in his home church, Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity Omofe, llesa.

He was once a chorister in that church, and his late grandfather, Papa JB Ojofeitimi, as well as his late Uncle, Pa Sanya Ojofeitimi, also served as Baba Ijo of the same church.

He trained for the ministry at Immanuel College of Theology and Christian Education at Samonda, Ibadan. To hone his ministerial skills, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Theology (BTh), Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Theology (MTh), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary between 2010 and 2022.

Before his lordship’s election as Bishop, he was the Provost in charge of the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina Lagos, the Headquarters of the Diocese of Lagos.

The Consecration will by God’s Grace take place at the Standing Committee Meeting of the Anglican Communion scheduled for Tuesday, 16th September 2025.

All members of the public are enjoined to attend as many as possible of the activities especially the Programmes of the Diocese and to please cooperate with the Committee’s specific plans in terms of security and other protocols.
