Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) in conjunction with AZMO Construction and Supply Limited on Thursday held a training conference for some selected widows from Atakumosa East,)Atakumosa West, Ilesa East/ Ilesa West Federal Constituency.
Selected widows gathered at the Sen. Adenigba Fadahunsi Constituency Office, Itabalogun, Wesley Hospital road, Ilesa that served as the defunct Party Secretariat for the Ilesa East PDP chapter, to gain knowledge in cake baking, decorating, small chop, samosa and spring rolls making.
Access to participants was facilitated by Honourable Emmanuel Sanya Omirin, Member, House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency at the 10th National Assembly.
KAKAKIOODUA recall that Hon. Sanya Omirin recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Hence, the program was his maiden Empowerment Programme organized since his celebrated defection.
In his welcome address, Hon. Lanre Balogun the Executive Chairman of Ilesa East local government expressed his delight at seeing the selected participants from the APC and supporters of Hon. Omirin who followed him from the PDP into the APC hobnobbing, a pointer to the fact that in politics today’s enemy could be a friend in waiting.
He hammered on the importance of the Voters Registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the Osun 2026 governorship and 2027 Presidential cum National Assembly elections as he told the participants that the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) will start on the 18th of August, 2025, with online registration. Prospective registrants will supply their personal information, after which they will generate a slip to present at the local government office within their area of residence and from the 25th of August, registrants will come physically for their biometrics — fingerprints and facial capture at designated INEC office.
He also threw banter on the takeover of the Ilesa East PDP Secretariat by the APC
Also, the representative of the consultant, AZMO Construction and Supply limited, Mr. Abdulazees Mansui appreciated Hon. Sanya Omirin's commitment and sacrifice towards his constituents.
A total of hundred (100) widows in attendance at the workshop were taught the rudiments of Cake baking, decorating, small chop, samosa and spring rolls making.

At the end of the session, the widows expressed joy at being chosen to participate. They exhibited enthusiasm and the zeal to make money from what was taught to them.
They were also empowered to begin to use their newly acquired skill to provide for their families. it would afford them the opportunity of meeting their family needs. The widows promised to begin business at the end of the training programme.
In attendance were loyalists of Hon. Sanya Omirin including Leader OlaOluwa Daramola, Hon. Siji Ayeni, Hon. Banji Adesoye, Hon. Alana Ajayi and Hon. Babatunde Oladapo aka Omega.
