Ilesa Funeral Tragedy: Hunters' Gun Salute Ends in De@th and Injury...Infant Loses Life, Four Injured ‎ ‎






A ceremonial gun salute turned tragic when a local hunter's firearm accidentally discharged at a funeral in Ilesa , resulting in one fatality and injuring four others.


An eyewitness account reveals that approximately six hunters were invited from Plateau State to attend the burial ceremony by one of the deceased's children.

 

According to the report, tragedy struck when the armed men were rendering a gun salute to the deceased, but one of the barrels misfired, killing an infant instantly and leaving four others injured.


The invitees promptly sought safety immediately after the incident, while the injured were rushed to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, for medical treatment. 


The ill-fated infant has been buried beside the late woman whose funeral turned bloody, and the hunters and the man who invited them have been arrested by the police.


MEANWHILE, CONTRARY TO THE REPORTS IN SOME QUARTERS THAT 5 PEOPLE DIED, ONE CASUALTY  WAS CONFIRMED BY THE POLICE AS AT THE TIME OF FILING THIS REPORT
