The ancient towns of Ikire, Apomu, Ikoyi in Irewole and Isokan Isokan Local Government Areas of Osun State on Tuesday agog as residents of the towns thronged out enmasse to receive the leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO.
The ecstatic residents of the towns who trouped out in large numbers to welcome AMBO Movement took to major streets in Ikire, Ikoyi and Apomu with solidarity songs and pro-APC chants to express their enthusiasms and support for the Oyebamiji's candidature.
This is even as AMBO Movement received into the progressive fold members of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, who have decided to pitch tent with the Nigeria's ruling party.
At the consultation tours, leaders and members of the party unanimously endorsed Oyebamiji's candidature saying, " he is a round peg in a round hole" to steer the ship of the state to the promised land.
In their separate remarks, APC Chairman, Isokan Local Government Area, Hon. Osunlakin Basiru, former member, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olasunkanmi Akinola Omotuntun and Hon. Basiru Awobode, expressed confidence in the Oyebamiji's competence, capacity, administrative sagacity and financial prowess to administer the affairs of the state.
According to Hon. Osunlakin Basiru, Oyebamiji is the preferred aspirant and most qualified person that can lead our party to victory.
"Going by Oyebamiji's impeccable trackrecords and verifiable imprints, he is the popular choice and we are happy that his aspiration is gathering momentum.
"No doubt, Oyebamiji is ours and we are the one contesting and as such, we must appreciate those that have been very supportive to the cause for being there for us", he added.
In his remarks, Oyebamiji appreciated the residents of the towns for the tumultuous welcome hinting "this is a genuine demonstration of acceptance and love"
Oyebamiji who acknowledged the competence of all the contestants said "though all of us in the race are competent and far better than those at the helms of affairs in the state, I stand out firmly as the most competent aspirant and this could be attested to by all and sundry.
"I want to sincerely appreciate our people for coming out in large numbers to receive us today as usual. I have toured about 22 local governments and the receptions have been topnotch. What we witnessed today is indeed a clear indication and demonstration of love from our people in Irewole/Isokan/Aiyedaade federal constituency. I am so grateful for always being with us and I promise not to let you down.
"I want to appeal to you all not to rest on your oars mobilizing massively for the collection of Permanent Voter's Cards. This is our right and only power to further prove our loyalty and commitment to return APC to government come 2026", Oyebamiji added.
