CELEBRATING A TRAILBLAZER AT 70....
As Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi marks his 70th birthday, Ijesaland stands united in joy, gratitude, and admiration for a leader whose vision and compassion have transformed the destiny of countless elders.
In a society where healthcare access for senior citizens often depends on chance, he has boldly reimagined the future setting the audacious goal that every Ijesa elder should live not only longer but healthier, with a minimum life expectancy of 100 years.
At the centre of this historic transformation is the Ijesa Community Health Insurance Scheme, a pioneering initiative facilitated under the auspices of the Iiesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA) and spearheaded by Asiwaju Fasuyi himself.

This reality ignited in Asiwaju Fasuyi an unshakable resolve to ensure that healthcare for elders is not a privilege but a communal right.
With strategic planning, personal financial commitment, and unrelenting advocacy, he mobilised the ICDA machinery to create the first community-based health insurance scheme dedicated to the elderly.
This synergy of leadership, resources, and technical expertise made the 2024 launch a resounding success and set the tone for a movement that would change the face of healthcare for elders in ljesaland.

The ripple effect is equally remarkable.
The scheme has become a beacon of what a united community can achieve, inspiring other communities and organisations to explore similar grassroots healthcare solutions.
SUSTAINABILITY: A PROMISE THAT CONTINUES
The 2024 milestone was only the beginning. Asiwaju Fasuyi ensured the initiative was embedded within ICDA's long-term framework, with ongoing annual enrolments and expanded partnerships with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
