Hundreds of mourners gathered today at No. 12, Ifesowapo Street , Muslim Area, Irojo, Ilesa to bid farewell to Hon. Simeon Babatunde Adebowale, Osun All Progressives Congress APC stalwart, former Vice Chairman, Atakumosa West local government, a respected civil servant, politician, and community leader who passed away on Tuesday 18th, November, 2025.
Babatunde, who was born on October 4, 1955, in Ibodi, Osun State, was a dedicated public servant who retired as a Director with the Osun State Internal Revenue Service.
He was known for his commitment to community service, serving as a Board Member with the Osun State Teaching Service Commission and as Vice Chairman of Atakunmosa West Local Government.
A stalwart of the progressive family, Babatunde was also active in grassroots politics and served as Secretary of the Celestial Church of Christ Oke Aayo Cathedral and CCC Ijesaland Area.
He was conferred with the chieftaincy title Arapate of Ibodi for his contributions to his community.
Babatunde is survived by his wife, Kikelomo, and children Bukola, Oluwadamilare, Opeyemi, and Oluwasegun, as well as a wide circle of family and friends.
Tributes have poured in, describing him as a kind-hearted, humble, and dedicated individual who will be deeply missed.
