Tenure Determination Suit Of Reinstated LG Council Executives Is Subsisting, Adjourned To February 2026..- Osun APC Reminds PDP, Adeleke

The ploy of the Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to deliberately misinform the innocent members of the public for an unmerited sympathy about the reinstated APC chairmen and councillors in the state can neither sit nor fly.

It is to be noted that the moment the colossal loss struck the PDP-led state government and its self-deceit sit at home appointed chairmen and councilors, all manners of lies are being rolled out by the state government and its party, the PDP, to confuse the innocent members of the public.

Why is it difficult for the PDP leadership in the state to also disclose that there is a pending Suit No. FHC/OS/CS/147/2025, which is about the determination of the tenure of office of the reinstated APC chairmen and councilors? The matter came up last month and has been adjourned to February 2026.

The suit is also seeking court determination on whether the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) has the power to conduct another election in February 2025 during the subsistence of the tenure of the reinstated elected chairmen and councillors.

The PDP-led government in the state has been misleading the public with a ruse staged on 22nd February, 2025 as local government elections and a claim that brings spite and protests to the PDP, in that people have become smart and wise enough to know a difference between an election and illegal declaration.

The antics of the PDP-led government as being parroted by Kolapo Alimi and co are nothing but a deliberate attempt to incite the innocent members of the public against the APC. It doesn't represent the position of the law and extant judgment on the ground.

Governor Adeleke and his political co-travellers could only be distorting  the information about the lingering crises affecting the local government administration in the state for reasons which could not be in the best interest of ensuring peaceful atmosphere in the state.

The suit is seeking court pronouncement as to whether the reinstated APC chairmen and councillors are entitled to three years as provided for by the law having had their first sitting in February 2025.

The suit is also seeking court determination on whether the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) has the power to purportedly conduct another election in February 2025 during the subsistence of the tenure of the reinstated elected chairmen and councillors.

The members of the public and the statutory security services should know where to beam their searchlight on if there's a breakdown of law and order that arises from the threat of the state government and some of the members of the PDP to resort to the use of force as opposed to the rules of law by conducting themselves in a manner capable of breaching of peace across the local government councils which are currently under the lawful administration of the reinstated chairmen and councillors.

This is a clarion call to the police, the Department of Security Service(DSS), the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence to be on guard with a view to ensuring that the law-abiding citizens of the state are adequately protected from the likely violence threat of attacks of our members and supporters as it was experimented at Otan-Aiyegbaju in Boluwaduro Local Government Council Area of the state shortly after the delivery of the judgement by the Supreme Court that struck out the suit filed by the Attorney-General of Osun State against the Attorney-General of the Federation on Friday.

We want to, as a law-abiding foremost opposition party in Osun State, appeal to the parents and guardians to warn their children and wards not to allow themselves to be used as instruments of violence by the desperate politicians who are safely keeping their children in other climes but relish in exposing the children of the poor to avoidable political violence.

We are also appealing to our members and supporters not to embrace an option of violence in permanently settling the lingering political logjam bedevilling our local government councils.
