‎Ilesa East LG Inaugurates Tenders Board, Sabo Market Committee to Boost Transparency and Revenue ‎






‎The Executive Chairman of Ilesa East Local Government, Hon. Lanre Balogun, on Wednesday inaugurated the Local Government Tenders Board and the Sabo Market Committee, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and improved grassroots governance.





‎The inauguration ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat, was described by the Chairman as a critical step toward strengthening due process in public procurement and enhancing revenue generation within the local government.

‎Speaking at the event, Hon. Balogun said the exercise aligns with his administration’s resolve to implement the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) at the grassroots level. He noted that the focus remains on delivering quality infrastructure and improving the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the council for the benefit of residents.





‎“We shall leave no stone unturned in ensuring good governance at the grassroots so that the people of Ilesa East can enjoy the dividends of democracy,” the Chairman said.



‎Members of the newly inaugurated Tenders Board are:


Hon. Omoniyi Gbenga – Chairman

‎Hon. Olayiwola Mojisola Eniola – Member

‎Hon. Johnson Ajilore – Member

‎Mrs. Alake Temitayo – Member

‎Mr. Owopetu Olalemi Cornelius – Member

‎Mr. Ariyo Isola – Treasurer

‎Engr. Wahab O. Ibrahim – Secretary

‎According to the Chairman, the Board is tasked with determining policy direction on infrastructural development, ensuring that contracts are awarded strictly in line with procurement laws and due process, supervising procurement activities across departments, and performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Council.


‎Also inaugurated was the Sabo Market Committee, with the following members:


Hon. Mrs. Bukola Kofo Omole – Chairman

‎Hon. Niyi Folorunso – Member

‎Mrs. Olarinre Kubra – Member

‎Alhaji Iliyasu Hakimi – Member

‎Babaloja – Member

‎Iyaloja – Member

‎Mrs. Fadunsin Funke – Rate Officer

‎The committee is mandated to ensure orderliness within the Sabo Market, assist the Rate Officer in revenue collection, resolve civil disputes while referring criminal matters to the police, and work towards improving market-generated revenue through periodic review of rates where necessary.

‎Hon. Balogun expressed confidence that members of both bodies would discharge their responsibilities diligently, leading to improved infrastructural delivery and enhanced revenue performance for the local government.

‎The event concluded with a call on the inaugurated members to uphold integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
