Repeated Gun Attacks on Residence of Hon. Folarin Fafowora Raise Security Concerns in Ilesa West






The residence of Hon. Folarin Fafowora, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly and former Chairman of Ilesa West Local Government, has come under repeated gun attacks, heightening concerns over security in the area.


Reports indicate that suspected gunmen attacked Hon. Fafowora’s residence located at Okeomiru, Osogbo Garage, within Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun State, on two separate occasions. The first incident occurred on December 28, 2025, while a second attack was recorded on December 5, 2026. The assailants were said to have struck violently and without provocation, causing fear among residents of the neighbourhood.


Although details of casualties or damage were not immediately confirmed, the repeated nature of the attacks has generated widespread fe@r and anxiety within the community. Residents and concerned stakeholders have expressed deep worry over the apparent targeting of the former lawmaker and the potential threat to public safety.


In response, Folarin Fafowora's neighbors have made calls for urgent intervention by security agencies to prevent further attacks and safeguard lives and property. Observers have urged law enforcement authorities to intensify investigations, apprehend those responsible, and restore confidence among residents of Ilesa West and its environs.


Stakeholders have also reaffirmed their commitment to peace, justice, and the protection of all citizens across Osun State, stressing that acts of violence must not be allowed to undermine public order or democratic values.
