Oriade LG Commissions Renovated Bus Stop in Ijeda Ijesa

The Oriade Local Government Area on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, commissioned a newly renovated bus stop at Ijeda Ijesa, popularly known as Ijeda Atuwalara, as part of efforts to improve grassroots infrastructure and enhance the welfare of residents.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Executive Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Government, Emiola Babatomiwa Shadrack, expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the project and appreciated the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ezekiel Olubunmi Obeisun, for prioritising infrastructure development across communities in the local government.

Shadrack described Hon. Obeisun as a mentor and father figure, noting that his administration has consistently demonstrated commitment to improving the living conditions of the people through impactful community projects.

According to him, the bus stop, which was originally constructed over 50 years ago by community leaders in Ijeda Atuwalara, had fallen into a state of disrepair before the recent renovation.

“This facility had become dilapidated over the years. Its renovation was necessary to restore its usefulness and improve the aesthetic value of our community,” he said.

He noted that the upgraded bus stop would provide a safer and more comfortable waiting area for commuters while also contributing to the overall beautification of Ijeda Ijesa.

Shadrack commended the workers and stakeholders involved in the renovation project, describing the development as a clear demonstration of the local government’s resolve to provide essential services and strengthen public infrastructure at the community level.

He urged residents to take collective responsibility for the maintenance of the facility to ensure its sustainability, while also calling on them to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in forthcoming elections to ensure continuity of developmental projects.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Government, members of his cabinet, distinguished guests, community leaders, and residents of Ijeda Ijesa.

The event marked another step in Oriade Local Government’s ongoing drive toward community development and improved public infrastructure.
