Oriade South LCDA Chairman Deploys Grader to Improve Roads in Ipetu Ijesa, Other Communities

The Executive Chairman of Oriade South Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ajimati Oladeji Benedict, has commenced extensive road grading and rehabilitation works across several communities within the council area to improve accessibility and ease movement for residents.

The grading exercise, carried out on Wednesday, February 5, 2026, covered the Ipetu Ijesa Market Square, the Ayeyemi axis, and a number of adjoining streets. The chairman assured residents that the grader would be deployed to all parts of Oriade South to ensure improved road access across the LCDA.

The intervention is aimed at addressing transportation challenges, particularly for traders, farmers, and motorists. At the Ipetu Ijesa Market Square, the grading works reopened previously blocked entrances that had been overtaken by waste and overgrown vegetation, thereby creating a cleaner and more accessible environment for commercial activities.

Speaking on the project, Hon. Ajimati emphasized the importance of good road networks to the predominantly agrarian communities in Oriade South. According to him, improved access roads will facilitate the movement of agricultural produce from farms to markets, manufacturers, and consumers.

“Our people are largely farmers, and good roads are essential for moving farm produce quickly and efficiently. Access to our markets is critical. That is why we are grading roads across the LCDA to serve our people better. At the Ipetu Ijesa market, we have reopened and graded all major entrances to support traders and daily business activities,” he said.

The chairman also urged communities in need of grading works to contact his office, assuring them of timely response. In addition, he called on residents to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), whom he described as well-positioned to advance sustainable development in Osun State.

Hon. Ajimati expressed confidence that Oyebamiji’s leadership would strengthen local government autonomy, improve funding, and enable the expansion of road and other infrastructure projects across communities in the state.

The road rehabilitation efforts have been welcomed by residents as a boost to economic activities and grassroots development in Oriade South LCDA.
