Osun 2026: APC Inaugurates 7,380 Unit Canvassers in Ila Federal Constituency as AMBO Unveils Prosperity Agenda

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has pledged to deliver a prosperity-driven administration focused on security, quality education, job creation, and sustainable economic growth if elected governor in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

Oyebamiji made the pledge on Thursday during the inauguration of 7,380 unit canvassers for Ila Federal Constituency held in Boluwaduro Local Government Area.

Addressing party members, leaders, and supporters from Ila, Ifedayo, and Boluwaduro local governments, the APC flagbearer expressed appreciation for their unwavering support and commitment to the party's campaign efforts.

He assured residents that an APC-led government under his leadership would prioritize inclusive development and ensure that every part of Osun State benefits fairly from government policies and programmes.

Speaking on the security challenges confronting the state, AMBO expressed concern over recent incidents of kidnapping, particularly in Ifedayo Local Government Area, stressing that safeguarding lives and property would be one of the major priorities of his administration.

The APC candidate also disclosed that his team would soon unveil an Osun Energy Plan aimed at boosting electricity generation and distribution across the state, with the goal of enhancing economic productivity and driving industrial growth.

The Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, formally inaugurated the canvassers and commended their dedication to the party despite recent political and legal developments.

According to Oke, the commitment demonstrated by party faithful across the constituency is evidence that the APC remains united, organized, and well-positioned for victory at the polls.

He urged the canvassers to intensify grassroots mobilization efforts in their respective units and wards, emphasizing that electoral success would depend largely on effective voter engagement and strong community-based organization.

The campaign council DG also reiterated his commitment to supporting educational advancement among constituents who may lack the financial means to pursue their academic goals. He further acknowledged former Osun State Governor and APC chieftain, Chief Bisi Akande, for his leadership role and contributions to the growth and stability of the party.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the Osun Central Campaign Council, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, criticized the current administration in the state, alleging poor management of public resources and unequal distribution of development projects.

Adeleke called on Osun residents to support the APC's bid to return to power, arguing that the state requires leadership committed to the welfare and collective interests of all citizens.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Ila Federal Constituency Campaign Council, Hon. Simeon Obawale, alongside Hon. Richard Tinubu and Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, charged the newly inaugurated canvassers to remain disciplined, united, and committed to the party's objectives.

They urged them to take the APC campaign message to every community and household across the constituency while mobilizing support for the party ahead of the governorship election.

Among dignitaries present at the event were the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Engr. Benjamin Adereti; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Protocol, Ambassador Issa Niniola; Dr. Festus Olowogboyega; party leaders, campaign council members, local government stakeholders, and supporters from across the federal constituency.
