Police Rescue Adelabu's Sister, Twin Sons Alive; Two Suspected Kidnappers K!lled in Gun Battle

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a late-night operation that led to the death of two suspected kidnappers.

The rescue operation was carried out at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, after days of intelligence-driven efforts by security operatives.

Mrs. Adegoke John-Paul, who is the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons were abducted on June 3, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m. while she was taking the children to school.

According to police sources, sustained intelligence gathering, strategic surveillance, and mounting tactical pressure on the kidnappers forced the criminal gang into a confrontation with security operatives.

During the ensuing gun duel, two suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate were neutralised, while two firearms were recovered from the scene.

The victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their family.

Security agencies have launched a manhunt for other members of the gang who reportedly fled the area during the operation. Authorities believe some of the fleeing suspects may have sustained gunshot wounds and are currently combing surrounding communities and forests to apprehend them.

The successful rescue operation has been widely commended as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes in the region.

Police authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that all those connected to the abduction will be brought to justice.
