The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun State office, has extended the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) at registration area centres across the state to Friday, July 31, 2026.
INEC disclosed this in a press release issued in Osogbo, noting that the exercise, which began on Wednesday, July 2 and was scheduled to end on Tuesday, July 28, recorded significant turnout from registered voters.
According to the commission, a total of 322,822 PVCs, representing 62 per cent of the available cards, were collected during the initial period of the exercise.
INEC said the extension became necessary following complaints from members of the public, the large crowds witnessed at collection centres and other operational difficulties experienced during the exercise.
The commission explained that the additional three-day window would enable more eligible voters to collect their PVCs and participate in the electoral process.
It further clarified that the extension at the registration area level would not affect the next phase of the exercise, adding that PVC collection at local government area (LGA) offices will now commence from August 1 to August 7, 2026.
INEC urged all concerned registered voters in Osun State to take advantage of the extension and collect their Permanent Voter Cards before the new deadline.
