The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it will officially flag off its governorship campaign in Ile-Ife on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Head of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, the rally will mark the beginning of the party's statewide campaign ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
The party said the campaign would focus on issues of sustainable development, economic growth, and infrastructural transformation, presenting its vision for the future of Osun State.
The APC explained that Ile-Ife was deliberately selected as the venue for the campaign launch in recognition of its historical and cultural importance as the cradle of Yoruba civilization, as well as its strategic political relevance.
The party's governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), is expected to formally unveil his manifesto during the event. The manifesto, according to the statement, will outline the party's plans for critical sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment, and economic development.
The APC also called on party members, supporters, and residents of Osun State to attend the rally and participate in what it described as the beginning of a movement toward a new direction for the state.
The party assured attendees that adequate security arrangements had been put in place to ensure a peaceful, orderly, and successful event.
