Tinubu Appoints Ayo Fayose, 25 Others into Federal Agencies and Commissions

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 people into the boards and leadership of 10 federal government agencies and commissions.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced on Monday in a statement issued by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Among the new appointments is former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, who was named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

According to the Presidency, Fayose will lead the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive directors. The agency's Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors will complete the board.

President Tinubu also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salary and Wages Commission. Former member of the House of Representatives, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was named Secretary of the commission.

Other members appointed into the commission include Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna), Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).

The President also redeployed Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, the former Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund, to serve as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.

In another appointment, Engineer Julius Oloro was named the new Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State. He replaces Dr. A.R. Kamal, who passed away in January.

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission. Other members of the board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.

The President further appointed Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education. He replaces Professor Shu'aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was earlier reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund.

Also, Gisaor Vincent Iorja was appointed Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to contest the Benue State governorship election.

The Presidency said all the appointments take effect immediately.
