A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Engr. Dideolu Falobi, has called on residents of the state to remain united and participate peacefully in the August 15 governorship election.
In a New Month message released on Saturday, Falobi expressed gratitude to God for the beginning of August, describing the month as a defining period in the political history of Osun State as voters prepare to elect a new governor.
The former APC governorship aspirant thanked his supporters, friends, volunteers and well-wishers for their prayers, encouragement and loyalty throughout his political journey. He said their steadfast support had remained a source of inspiration.
According to him, while individual ambitions may be temporary, the development and progress of Osun State should remain the overriding priority of all stakeholders.
Falobi urged members of the APC, supporters of his political movement and other progressives across the state to unite behind the party's governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), in the forthcoming election.
He stated that the election presents an opportunity for the people of Osun State to choose a government that would prioritise sustainable development, responsible governance, economic growth, improved security, quality education, better healthcare, youth empowerment and industrial development.
The former aspirant said the vision aligns with the developmental agenda of the APC and expressed confidence that the party's candidate is committed to delivering those objectives if elected.
Falobi also appealed to residents to reject violence, promote unity and conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the election, stressing that democracy flourishes best in an atmosphere of peace.
He encouraged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), mobilise family members, friends and neighbours, and participate actively in the electoral process, noting that every vote and every polling unit would play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the election.
He concluded his message with prayers for peace, a credible electoral process and continued progress for Osun State, while wishing residents a happy new month.
