The Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industries, Distinguished Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR, has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, and the people of Ile-Ife on the occasion of the 2026 Olojo Festival.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Omole Oluwasegun Omo-Osodi, Senator Fadahunsi described the annual festival as an important cultural occasion that celebrates the identity, heritage and historical significance of Ile-Ife.

The 2026 Olojo Festival is being celebrated in Ile-Ife from September 24 to 28, with activities encompassing traditional ceremonies, cultural exhibitions and other events. The festival's spiritual phase included the Ooni's seven-day seclusion ahead of the traditional rites.
Senator Fadahunsi said the celebration represents more than a cultural gathering, describing it as an occasion for thanksgiving, renewal, unity and reflection on the history and shared heritage of the Yoruba people.
He commended the Ooni for his efforts in preserving Yoruba traditions and promoting cultural heritage, noting the significance of Ile-Ife as a historic centre of Yoruba civilisation.
The Senator, who expressed his joy at joining the people of Ife at home and in the Diaspora in celebrating the festival, also called on sons and daughters of Ile-Ife to uphold peace, unity, lawfulness and communal progress throughout the celebrations.
He prayed that the Olojo Festival would bring peace, prosperity, harmony and divine blessings to Ile-Ife, Yorubaland, Osun State and Nigeria.
Senator Fadahunsi further prayed for God's guidance and protection for everyone participating in the festival and wished the Ooni a long and successful reign on the throne of his ancestors.

The 2026 Olojo celebrations are scheduled to culminate on September 28 with the Oonirisa's Ancestral Home Traditional Procession and the Cultural Talents Hunt Night Grand Finale.
