The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS11.12 Ilesa Unit Command, has honoured 11 stakeholders and partners for their contributions to road safety, while recognising three outstanding personnel for exemplary service at the grand finale of its 2026 Customer Service Week celebration.
The event, held on Friday, October 9, at Gilbert Social Centre Hotel & Suites, Ilesa, Osun State, celebrated excellence in service delivery and strengthened collaboration between the Corps and its stakeholders.
The occasion attracted representatives of sister security agencies, Special Marshals, community representatives, corporate organisations, media practitioners and other invited guests.
Speaking at the event, the Unit Commander, Assistant Corps Commander (ACC) Bashir A. Jimoh, expressed appreciation to the stakeholders and guests for their participation, describing Customer Service Week as an opportunity to recognise excellent service and encourage continuous improvement.
Jimoh stressed that customer service within the FRSC goes beyond routine official duties, encompassing professionalism, compassion, responsiveness and a commitment to saving lives.
He commended personnel of the Command for their resilience and dedication, while emphasising that road safety could only be achieved through sustained cooperation between the Corps and the public.
According to him, road safety remains a shared responsibility requiring the active participation of individuals, corporate organisations, government institutions and other stakeholders.
FRSC Honours 11 Stakeholders
A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of awards to 11 stakeholders and partners in recognition of their contributions to road safety advocacy, public enlightenment, corporate social responsibility, community safety, traffic compliance and support for the Corps' operations.
The awardees included Yinka Oba Foam, Ilesa; Segilola Resources Operating Limited, Iperindo; High Chief LOORO Lekan Salami; Unique FM, Ilesa; Saint John Comprehensive High School, Ilesa; Christ's Trumpeters' Church, Ilesa; Gani Olarewaju Boladayo; Jimoh Ogundipe; Felix Oladeji; and Sunday Fajuyi.
The recognition highlighted the importance of partnerships in advancing road safety awareness and supporting the FRSC's mandate of reducing road traffic crashes and their consequences.
Three personnel of the Command also received commendation letters and FRSC face caps in recognition of their exemplary service and dedication to duty.
The initiative was designed to promote discipline, punctuality, neatness, effective communication and professionalism among personnel, while motivating others to maintain high standards in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Special Marshals Warn Against Dangerous Driving
In his remarks, the State Coordinator of Special Marshals, Elder Gbenga Aluko, cautioned motorists against dangerous driving habits and other behaviours that put lives at risk on the highways.
He urged road users to embrace responsible driving practices and remain safety-conscious to help reduce road traffic crashes.
Similarly, the Head of Operations, ACC Rasaq O. Agboola, delivered a paper on customer service and road safety, highlighting the importance of effective communication, courteous engagement with road users, prompt response to emergencies and sustained public enlightenment.
Agboola also emphasised the need for collective responsibility and stronger collaboration between the FRSC and its partners to improve service delivery and make Nigerian roads safer.
Unique FM Pledges Continued Support
Goodwill messages delivered by selected stakeholders commended the Ilesa Unit Command for organising the celebration and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Corps' road safety initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of the award recipients, Otunba Ayo Jare Martins, General Manager of Unique FM, Ilesa, expressed appreciation for the recognition and pledged continued support for the FRSC.
He also promised assistance through the provision of rescue items to strengthen emergency response and road safety operations.
His remarks underscored the important role of media organisations and other corporate partners in promoting public awareness and supporting emergency response efforts.
Students Add Colour to Celebration
The event also featured a cultural performance by students of Saint John Comprehensive High School, Ilesa, adding colour and excitement to the celebration.
The display showcased the students' talents and highlighted the importance of involving young people in community engagements and road safety awareness programmes.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks delivered by RC O. T. Olaniran, who appreciated the dignitaries, stakeholders, award recipients, personnel and other guests for their contributions to the success of the event.
Stakeholders Renew Commitment to Road Safety
The grand finale marked the successful conclusion of the week-long 2026 Customer Service Week celebration organised by the RS11.12 Ilesa Unit Command.
Beyond the awards and staff commendations, the celebration provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships, recognise valuable contributions and renew commitment to quality service delivery.
The event reinforced the message that safer roads require the combined efforts of the FRSC, security agencies, corporate organisations, transport operators, the media, educational institutions and the general public.
