The events that signpost the commencement of the activities for this year’s Iwude Ijesa Festival have commenced.
The meeting with Clubs and Societies on Tuesday 7th December was the first in series of a fortnight long series of activities that will lead to the grand finale on Saturday the 18th of December.
The Elegboro of Ijebujesa, surrounded by Larugbajo of Igbajo and Olodogo of Odogo-Ijesa led the members of the Planning Committee to a Jumaat Prayer at the Ijebujesa Central Mosque on Friday 10th December.
At the well- attended service, the Chief Imam of the Mosque admonished the congregation present and all Ijesa sons and daughters to take the issue of unity seriously.
The chief imam said special prayers for the nation, the people and the leadership and urged all to work for the unity of Ijesaland.
The service was also graced by the Caretaker Chairmen of Oriade, Oriade South and Atakumosa West local governments.
The Planning Committee members will be led by the Oloja of Ibodi for Christian prayer at the Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Ilesa for the same purpose on Sunday 12th December.
