Read how Gbolabo Oni Celebrated World Disabled Day with Physically Challenged in Ilesa






As part of his efforts to always put smiles on the faces of the less privileged, especially the Physically Challenged in the society, Dr. Gbolabo Oni recently donated gifts items to students of School for the Physically Challenged, Enu Odi Ilesha, Osun State .


Items distributed at the event includes food, clothing, books and writing materials and cash. The children danced to different musical renditions as they relish variety of foods. 


According to Dr. Gbolabo Oni, he decided to celebrate this year 'World Disabled Day' with students with special needs because he imbibe the philosophy that if the society leave care for the Physically Challenged for no one and someone must take the responsibility. He said the act gives him feelings of fulfilment whenever he puts smiles on the faces of the less  privileged.



He noted that his decision to give out to the less privileged was borne out of its cardinal vision to identify with indigent people in the society and to strive and cater for their needs.




 It will be recalled that Dr. Gbolabo Oni   has being always been in support of the physically challenged in Osun State most especially students of the School of Physically challenged at Enu-odi, ijebu Ijesha Road, Ilesha in the last two and half years. 

In his words ‘I strive to cater for the needs of the people through provision of materials, advocacy and Intervention over the years. 


"Over the years, I have supported orphanage homes, schools of children with disabilities among others.


"I believe that as I donate this items , it would Improve their lives , total well-being and assist in their social life.


"I have been doing this singlehandedly without any support from government quarters. I took it upon myself because of the purpose and vision in touching the lives of the less privileged in the society.


Dr. Gbolabo Oni also bemoaned the plight of physically challenged people in the society and enjoined the government and members of the public to come to their aid regularly. 


Prof Omole, one of the dignatries at the event also used the event to appealed to the government at both State and Federal, to always consider the physically challenged when planning for the environment. 


In her response to the donation of the gifts, the Principal of the School, Mrs Ibironke thanked Prof Omole for the kind gesture.


She stated that she wished that more caregivers could come to their aid occasionally.


Describing Dr. Gbolabo Oni as a core philanthropist, Mrs Ibironke said that "these are the kind of people that should be featured in governance as he had proved his service to humanity."


She also pleaded with the government at all levels to consider the plight of the less privileged people in the society, by including them in their annual and quarterly allocations, this she said will go a long way to alleviate the plight of the less privileged in the society.




Echoing a similar view, Honourable Foluso Adekoye , Caretaker Chairman, Atakunmosa East Local Government appreciated the donor with a promise to complement his efforts.
