COMING EVENT: Iwoye-Ijesa Day 2023.... Fostering Unity and Bringing Development

The ancient town of Iwoye-Ijesa is set to hold a week long event that will epic in grand finale tagged Iwoye-Ijesa Day 2023.

This year's lwoye-ljesa day celebration will hold between 23 -28 October 2023 with the focus to bring together sons and daughters of Iwoye-ljesa at home and abroad as many that have distinguished themselves in the development of the town over the years will also be celebrated and honored.

The grande finale featuring a N500 Million Development Fund Raising coming up on Saturday 28th October, 2023 starting by 10:00am at the lwoye-ljesa Main Ground shall be co-hosted by HRM Oba Amos Adewunmi Ogidiolu. Otokobo Il, the Oniwoye of Iwoye-ljesa, Prince Femi Agunbiade, CEO Makaiza Farms, Prof. Duro Oni, former University of Lagos, Deputy Vice Chancellor and the entire descendants of the town where His Excellency Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Executive Governor, Osun State, Nigeria will be the Special Guest of Honor, the Distinguished Chairman of the occasion will be Hon. (Chief) Oluwole Oke, the Gbobaniyi of lwoye-ljesa and a serving Member Federal House of Representatives.

The Royal Father of the day is HIM Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR, LLD, Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of ljesaland and the Fathers of the Day are HRM Oba Engr. Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, Abikehin Ekun Il, Elegboro of ljebu-ljesa and HRM Oba (Dr.) Akeem King Benjamin Ogungbangbe, Ajagbusi Ekun VI, Owaloko of lloko-ljesa

The N500 Million Development Fund Raising is in view to complement/assist on-going projects in the town and also to initiate more new developmental projects, such as, provision of solar bore-hole water to the remaining streets/quarters of lwoye-ljesa, renovation of the Youth Empowerment Centre (YEC), opening and rehabilitation of roads and furnishing, renovation and completion of Oniwoye's Palace.

In a chat with KAKAKIOODUA on Wednesday, High Chief Akinyele Oluwadare the Aro of Iwoye-Ijesa speaking on behalf of the organizing committee appealed to numerous sons and daughters of Iwoye-Ijesa to throw their weights behind this program as he lauds those making impactful strides in the development of the ancient town.

"For initial take off, about A 50O Million is projected to be spent on these projects, the organizing committee sincerely seeks the assistance of all Iwoye-Ijesa sons and daughters at home and abroad in hosting/sponsoring the program and more importantly the projects." He said

In the same vein, Prince Wole Oginni, the Global President of the Iwoye-Ijesa Descendants Union while mentioning some of the attractive developments that the town has witnessed very recently, such as, the Makaiza Farms, a modern hotel with holiday resorts, modern palace under construction, solar powered street lights and the success recorded by the Iwoye-Ijesha Microfinance Bank Limited appealed to Iwoye-Ijesa sons and daughters to donate generously to the N500 Million Development Fund Raising.
