PHOTOS: Ijesa People Kick Off Iwude Festival With Jumat Service, Church Service






The members of the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee have been advised to continue to work towards the progress and development of Ijesaland.




Chief Imam of Ijesaland, Chief Imam of Esa-Oke Central Mosque, Imam Hamed Bamigboye stated this during a well attended Jumat service marking the commencement of the 2023 edition of the annual Iwude Ijesa Festival of Unity on Friday 15th December at Esa-Oke, Oriade South Local Government Development Area (LCDA)


Imam Bamigboye  explained that the progress recorded by the Planning Committee  was as a result of the exemplary leadership styles of past leaders and of committed Ijesa patriots.






The congregation later offered prayer for peace and unity to continue to reign through out the nooks and crannies of Ijesaland.






Also on Sunday 17th of December, 2023 the Committee members were at the St. Philip's Anglican Church, Imobi, Iwara-Ijesa in the Atakumosa East Central Local Government Development Area (LCDA) for a Thanksgiving Service in commemoration of the commencement of the festival where Rev. Canon Dr. S. O. Olaleye urged the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee's contingent that were well supported by the Ijesaland local government chairmen to continually give glory to God for allowing Ijesaland to reign in peace.





The Committee members after the Thanksgiving Service later withdrew to Ilase-Ijesa in Obokun local government for a luncheon hosted by Chief Mrs Dupe Ajayi Gbadebo at her country home.

Other events marking the 2023 Iwude Ijesa Festival has since continued with Inter School Debate and Ayo Olopon game.
