Veteran Ijesa dialect expert orator and booming Ijesa language radio presenter, Abiodun Aponjolosun, better known as Akewi Igbala has undergone surgery.

Mr. Wale Idowu , told KAKAKIOODUA that the surgeries on his spine and lumbar region were successfully carried out at Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti and the man is stable.

When the health situation of Aponjolosun came to the knowledge of KAKAKIOODUA, a Save-His-Soul Publication was released in collaboration with Mr. Wale Idowu.

As at 27th December, 2023, Ijesa men and women of goodwill have donated One Million, Nine Hundred and fifteen naira (N1,915,000) as financial support.

The man, Abiodun Aponjolosun consequently reported at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital  preparatory to neurological appointment.

Upon another round of examination, it was concluded that he will undergo two surgeries.

One at the spine region and the other at lower limb each costing N3m thus totalling N6m.

He almost passed out at the mention of the figure.

Of the surgery fee is N6m, the total amount raised by Ijesa Patriots as at 20th January 2024 is N2,360,000.

N3m was deposited to the hospital last Wednesday 17th January prompting the commencement of the surgical operation.

Of particular importance now is the task of fulfilling the promise made to the hospital to the effect that the balance of the bill which presently stands at Two Million, Seven Hundred and thirty thousand Naira (N2,730,000.00) would be paid as the treatment progresses.

"We expect further directives from the hospital.

"Consequently, a passionate appeal is hereby made to all men and women of goodwill to rally more financial support towards defraying the balance." Wale Idowu said
