Osun Reinstated Councilors Hold First Legislative Session.. Appeal to Council Workers to Resume Work

The First Session of the Ilesa East local government legislative arm presided over by the Leader of the House, Hon. Adejuwon Ismaila Oluwaseun, was held in the Parliamentary Chamber at the premises of the Secretariat at Iyemogun, Ilesa Osun State on Wednesday the 26th of February 2025.

The session was the first of its kind after the reinstament of the elected Osun local government Chairmen and councilors following the Akure appeal judgement of 10th February, 2025 that nullified a high court judgment that removed the LG chairmen elected in 2022, shortly after their election.

In the course of the meeting , Hon. Adejuwon Ismaila led the House to observe a minute of silence in prayer for late Remi Abass, the Chairman of Irewole local government who was brutally k!lled by suspected thugs of the People Democratic Party PDP.

The plenary also appealed to local government workers to return to work, stating that calm had returned as responsible police officers, DSS and Civil Defence are doing their jobs as directed by the Inspector General of Police and their safety is guaranteed, hence there is no need to continue to withdraw their services, hence, the need for their urgent resumption.

Since the reinstated Chairman and Councilors of the council have resumed, citizens of the local government that have secured dates for marriages with the council have been coming for engagement confirmation as many that require local identification certification are also in dilemma.

One would recall that the reinstated counselors of Ilesa East local government are Hon Adejuwon Ismaila Oluwaseun Ilesa East Leader of the House, Hon Coker Ropo Ilesa North East LCDA, Leader, Hon Olowookere Adebayo Emmanuel of ward 2A, Hon Ariyibi Samson Olalekan of ward 02B, Hon Alaaka Bode of ward 03, Hon Olayiwola Mojisola Eniola of ward 04, Hon Oyewumi Abidemi of ward 05, Hon Olatunde Sunday of ward 06, Hon Haastrup Adeyemi of ward 07, Hon Falade Bola of ward 08, Hon Folorunso Olaniyi of ward 10A, Hon Adejoorin Adebayo ward 10B and Hon Olasore Oluwadare of ward 11.
