OSUN 2026: AMBO Movement Inaugurates 332 Wards' Coordinators ... reiterates commitment to massive mobilisation for Oyebamiji





As the 2026 governorship election draws near in Osun, a voluntary group, under the aegis of AMBO Movement which is driving the political aspirations of the current Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, on Monday, inaugurated ward coordinators across the 332 political wards in the state. 


This is just as the leadership of AMBO Movement and newly inaugurated coordinators reaffirmed commitment to intensive campaigns and massive mobilization for the emergence of Oyebamiji in the forthcoming APC primary and gubernatorial election in the state. 


The AMBO project, which has become a household name within Osun political landscape, has been gaining momentum across the state since its launch as the leadership of the movement had earlier inuagurated stakeholders and local governments coordinators across the 30 Councils and Ife-East Area Office, Modakeke. 





Inaugurating the ward coordinators, the immediate past Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Timothy Owoeye, described the initiative as a child of necessity to structurize  mobilisation and campaign coordination for Oyebamiji's emergence. 


According to him, the inauguration of ward coordinators has given birth to the official launch of AMBO project in all the political wards in the state. 


He said spreading of AMBO project has become collective efforts of like-mind within the progressive family hence the need to take the mobilisation for Oyebamiji to the grassroots as part of effort to garner massive support from the locals across the political wards in the state.


Owoeye, who is the Chairman of AMBO Movement, expressed delight in the massive turnout and participation of the ward coordinators, describing the gesture as divine grace which has been the template upon which the AMBO project was formed. 


He charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to see themselves as canvassers and crusaders of peace, unity and cohesion in their various domains and reflect same in their interface with the people at the grassroots for collective victory for Oyebamiji. 


Earlier, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to work under local government coordinators for seamless campaign and mobilization process.


He encouraged them to be fearless as they prepare for the incoming party primary, saying the formidability of AMBO's project is a signal to victory in all fronts. 


In their separate goodwill messages, former member, House of Representatives, Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, Commissioner of Information and immediate past Special Adviser to ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Hon. Sunday Akere; former members, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Awolola, Hon. Akinola Asifat Olasunkanmi, Hon. Musibau Olanrewaju, Hon. Festus Babatunde Komolafe, Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye, Hon. Taofeek Badamosi, Olotunde Abolubode; Hon. Debo Akanbi, Hon. Mulikat Abiola, Hon. Goke Awotunde, Hon. Muraina Adekoyejo, Hon. Israel Aloba, Hon. Lateef Jayeola, Hon. Uzamotu Adebayo, Hon. Oye Adebayo and Hon. Olusegun, Fanibe urged the newly inaugurated coordinators to spread AMBO gospel across their wards.


According to Akere Sunday, there's need for peaceful engagements, mobilization, campaign and interactions with the people at the grassroots to further market the marketable product in whom Oyebamiji is found. 


"Don't abuse, don't insult and don't fight. As ward coordinators, your work is to ensure that AMBO emerges across our wards and unit in whatever mode adopts by the party for primary and as well his - Oyebamiji's victory at the guber poll", Akere asserted.


In Awolola's words: " We have sellable and marketable product. It is not about fight. The aspirants are from the same family and I am sure after the emergence of Oyebamiji, we will all work together for his victory at the main gubernatorial election"


Oyintiloye said: "Let's do the work like Jehovah witnesses that win many souls every now and then. Our relentless effort is important. Let's begin to win souls into APC fold and AMBO Movement. This is the way. We have a character personified as an aspirant. Oyebamiji is religious, virtuous and he has shown to me what leadership quality is all about. He's a good and kindhearted man and he is not a betrayer or liar and I can assure you all that when he is elected our Governor, we will all benefit tremendously." 


To Hon. Olasunkanmi and Akanbi: "Let's remain brothers and sisters and work collectively to achieve the goal. This is the time to fight for freedom from the shackles that our state has been plunged under the current government led by Senator Ademola Adeleke. We all know that 'power is not served a La Carte'. This is about a fight for freedom and it requires commitment, dedication and fearlessness."


Hon Adeosun called for rededication and renew of faith, saying this project is about our avowed commitment and readiness to achieve it by redefining our intentions to believe more in this cause since we have an aspirant that has no blemishes and is a complete gentleman that is widely accepted, sellable and marketable. 


Other speakers, Hon. Kayode Oduoye, Hon. Ayeni, Hon. Mulikat Abiola, Hon. Komolafe, Hon. Adekoyejo, Hon. Abolubode, Hon. Olusegun Fanibe and Hon. Oye Adebayo assured the coordinators of unflinching support as they tasked them on diligence, fearlessness, loyalty and resilience.


The inauguration has in attendance; Hon. Kola Salami, Chairman Ede-South Local Government; Hon. Goke Odetunde, Chairman Isokan Local Government; Hon. Azeez Olanrewaju; Hon. Bamigbegbe among others.
