Osun 2026: Returning APC to govt non-negotiable - Oyetola. ...says coast is clear for Tinubu's re-election ...urges guber aspirants to embrace peace

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola , has affirmed the readiness of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to return to government in Osun State in the next year governorship election in the state, saying winning the election is non-negotiable.

Oyetola asserted that the coast is clear for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the coalition is never a threat to the re-election bid of the President come 2027.

This is even as the Minister tasked the governorship aspirants of the APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun State to embrace peace and be their brother's keepers by avoiding campaign of calumny, bitterness and politics of acrimony.

Oyetola stated these at a crucial stakeholders' meeting of the leading opposition party in the state on Friday, held at the Ilerioluwa Campaign Office, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo.

The former Osun State governor applauded the leadership and members of the party for their continuous commitment to the growth and development of the party since 2022, assuring them of his avowed commitment to lead the party to victory come 2026.

He acknowledged the current status of the party most significantly its formidability, vibrancy and potency to unseat the Governor Ademola Adeleke led-PDP government next year, adding that no legitimate efforts would be spared to return the APC to power.

Oyetola asserted that the coalition of the opposition parties never a threat saying the initiative was built on political conspiracy, connivance and vendetta.

According to him, there are signs of collapse of the coalition anytime soon, as manifested in the supremacy tusstle and unscrupulous power play among the gladiators which has further strengthened the ruling party.

"Whatever builds on conspiracy, connivance and vendetta will definitely collapse and it is crystal clear that the coalition is drifting to collapse. This has no iota of effect on us particularly in Osun. We knew this since, it is the same TOP that metamorphosed to Omoluabi and later ADC. We are resolute to come victorious in the future elections and this is incontestable", Oyetola assured.

Oyetola called on the leadership and members of the party to remain steadfast and united in mobilizing massively for the party as the state approaches the gubernatorial election.

He said the party has become a pretty bride attracting many saying, "our party's doors are open for genuine individuals."

Speaking on the need for the members of the party to mobilize massively for the Continuous Voter Registration and collection of Permanent Voter's Cards, PVC, Oyetola said the move is the prerequisite to victory.

According to Oyetola: "You all can see that the APC remains the party to beat anytime and anyday. As at today, we are receiving people into the party and many are still coming.

"This development has further attested to our vibrancy, potency and formidability. This has always been my dream to build a virile, potent and formidable party that would return the progressives to government.

"I thank God that this is manifesting and I can assure you that God on our side, we will win the governorship election next year in Osun State and deliver our state with massive votes for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"We all know what is coming to Osun State at the moment without justification for it. Our state is conveniently receiving huge federal government allocations to the tune of over 10billion naira every month against the meagre 2billion we were received while in government, but it's quite unfortunate there is nothing to show for it by the current government.

"We have many justifications to send the current government packing and we will return our party to the government next year by God's grace.

"We have qualified, quality, competent and people of outstanding track records as aspirants contesting for the governorship election and this is a unique selling proposition to feast on and we will continue to complement the federal government's efforts in all fronts", he added.

The meeting has in attendance leaders of the party led by the APC state Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, Chairman, Osun APC Elders' Caucus, Engr. Sola Akinwunmi, APC State Secretary, Alhaji Kamorudeen Alao, APC State Treasurer, Hon. Femi Kujembola, former Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, Senior Special Assistant to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Protocol, Ambassador Issah Niniola, former Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, member House of Reps representing Ijesa-North Federal Constituency, Hon. Wole Oke, former Speakers, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye and Hon. Wale Afolabi, former Deputy Speaker, Hon. Adegboye Akintunde , former National and State Assemblies Lawmakers, some of the APC Governorship Aspirants: Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO; Senator Babajide Omoworare ; Prince Dotun Babayemi; Barrister Kunle Adegoke and Senator Mudashiru Hussein.

Others are: Local Government Chairmen and Councillors, APC Local Government Chairmen, APC State and Local Government Excos, stakeholders at Wards, Local Governments and State among others.
