The Working Committee (SWC) of the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has enjoined all the party's chairmen in the local government council areas and the Area Office in Modakeke to assist the party's membership revalidation team and state co-ordinators who are currently in the state.
The state chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, while hosting the 12-member revalidation team and state co-ordinators led by Mr Malumi Dolapo John, the Deputy Director, Elections Management(Organising Department) at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, stated that it was imperative for the party's stakeholders in the state to join hands with the visiting team for a desired result.
Lawal who was represented by the State Secretary of the party, Alhaji Alao Olabisi Kamoru, told the visiting membership validation team that the party has put everything in place for them in order to make the programme a success.
Malumi explained to the meeting of the APC State Working Committee and the chairmen of the party in all the local government council areas in attendance that the exercise is not about the registration of new members into the party but rather to work on the existing members.
While seeking the co-operation of all the party's chairmen in all the local government council areas, Malumi disclosed that every member of the party must be financial members and that they all have the right to vote and be voted for.
In the words of the team leader: "Any credible members of the party must pay N200 per month for one year each and they have the right to contest for any positions.
"Some members have left the party, some are dead while others have just joined. We have a mechanism of authenticating if any members of our party have paid.
"The ward secretaries and ward organising secretaries and the similar officers of the party at the local government level would have crucial roles to play in the party's membership revalidation exercise", the team leader explained.
He also disclosed that the exercise which commenced on the 20th of October, 2025 would be rounded off on the 31st of October, 2025 in line with the APC National Headquarters' outline for the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial primary election.
