The Grand Imam of Ijesaland Shaikh Alh. Muhammad Jamiu Idris Bakare today led Ijesa Muslim at a Special Jumat Service at the Central Mosque, Ilesa, Osun State. The gathering coordinated by High Chief Saka Fapohunda, the Ogboni Of Ilesa symbolized the commencement of the 70th Birthday Celebration of the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi.
The religious observance, that set Oba Adekunle Aromolaran Civic Centre, Ilesa as the muster point for invited guests and the celebrants well-wishers, was well attended as the celebrant in company of his well-wishers walked amidst drum and trumpets from the the civic centre to the mosque.

Shaikh Alh. Muhammad Jamiu Idris Bakare in his Jumat sermon inside the mosque emphasized the importance of all living souls to always give thanks in all circumstances to God in constant gratitude as it is well rooted in religious texts and teachings.
"We must be thankful he made us human beings...in realities one of us can be an animal and others can be human. God could as well create us as a lesser beings
"Love your root, your consistency, love people, your town...Appreciate donors, appreciates those that are contributing their hard-earned resources, don't back-bite, show love, spend money so that you can have more" The Grand Imam said as he appreciated Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi's lack of preoccupation with his own interests in advancement of the progress of Ijesaland and attentiveness to those of others.
VIDEO: Click 👆 on the image to watch VIDEO: Click 👆 on the image to watchThe Grand Imam also highlighted some of the celebrant's legacies that included the initiation of the construction of the palace for the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, and the Geriatric hospital for the elderlies, health insurance Scheme covering hundreds of old men and women in Ijesaland, support for the Federal Technical College, Ilesa, scholarships and bursaries for many students in various secondary schools in Ijesaland and many others.
The Jumat service that had in attendance traditional rulers, community leaders, Chiefs, Yeyerise , friends, associates was later concluded in a Congregational prayer outside the mosque.
Asiwaju in his appreciation commended the grand Imam for his sermon and named him a Professor as he appreciated all attendees.
"We serve the same God, and God asks us to love one another, I must appreciate Yeyerise, Yeyesogba, Yeyelobirin, Yeye Ajirowa, Egbe Atunluse Ile Ijesa, Ajirowa of Ijesaland, Chief Lateef Bakare,High Chief Saka Fapohunda, ICDA managi, all friends from Ibadan, Chief Waheed Ekun, Dr. Tajudeen Adeniran, Alhaji Kola Kazeem, Ijesa youth forum, security personnel and all traditional rulers." He said
Afterwards, a Post-Jumat Reception that also featured an atmosphere of warm camaraderie, heartfelt tributes from friends and well-wishers of the celebrant was held at Oba Adekunle Aromolaran that was coordinated by of Erelu Jumoke Olafadehan.
The scheduled program for the 9-day birthday celebrations continues on Saturday at the Ijesa Felates Club with Ayo Olopon games as from 10am.
