‎‎Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi @ 70: Ilesa Students Get 300 Bags, 500 Books, Pens as Celebrant Urges Societies to Drive Development







‎Egbe Yeye Gbobaluyi Adimula, a prominent society in Ijesaland, has marked the 70th birthday of their Patron, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, with a thoughtful gesture. The society presented 300 customised school bags and 500 notebooks and pens to students of selected schools in Ilesa, demonstrating their appreciation for Asiwaju Fasuyi's exceptional leadership and commitment to the development of Ijesaland.


Egbe Yeye Gbobaluyi Adimula of Ijesaland, is one of the Societies registered under the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee for participation at the annual Ijesa unity festival that enters its second edition on Sunday 21st December, 2025.









To commemorate the 70th birthday of their Patron, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, the first Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Thursday, as part of the 7th day program of the 9-day scheduled events organised by the Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi 70th Birthday Planning Committee, the Society gifted out 300 customized school bags and 500 exercise books and pens to students of selected schools in Ilesa

‎The event was organised under the leadership of Iya Egbe of the Society, Yeyemeso Kemi Gbangbalasa.


‎The Spokesperson of the Society Aunty Apeke described, described Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi as a man of exceptional character whose leadership acumen Inspires all Ijesa sons and daughters.


‎The celebrant in his response and words of encouragement to the students at the Otapete Methodist Primary School, Ilesa, where he registered in 1962 and obtained his Primary School Leaving Certificate in 1968, encouraged the students to be focused as many of them will be great in life and amongst them are future greater Asiwajus. He thereafter donated N1m for the refurbishment of the school's classrooms.

‎At the Oba Agunlejika Secondary School, Muroko road, Ilesa the celebrant advised the students not to join bad groups and be of good behavior as he expressed his dislike on the various stages of dilapidation of many of the school's buildings and called on the government to come to the school's aide as he charged the Egbe Yeye Gbobaluyi Adimula of ljesaland to take up the re-roofing of one of the buildings as their project.


‎Apart from the school bags, pens and exercise books, there was also a windfall of donations of school uniforms to all the 120 students of the school present at the event.
