AMBO Denies Salary Cut Claims, Promises Better Pay for Osun Workers

The Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Media Fronts has denied allegations that their principal, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, intends to reduce the salaries of Osun State civil servants if he becomes governor in 2026. In a statement released on November 19, 2025, the group described the claims as "false and malicious propaganda" aimed at misleading workers and the public.

AMBO, a leading governorship aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2026 election, is instead committed to improving workers' welfare and collaborating with labour leaders to enhance their conditions, the statement said. It highlighted AMBO's track record as former Commissioner of Finance in Osun State, noting that during the APC administration led by Adegboyega Oyetola, salaries and pensions were paid promptly despite financial challenges, and the government increased the minimum wage from N18,000 to N30,000 — one of the first five states to implement the new rate.

The statement contrasts the current monthly federal allocation of about N13 billion with the N2 billion received during AMBO's tenure, asserting that an AMBO-led APC government would do better in addressing workers' challenges. It pledged that AMBO will not cut salaries or pensions as alleged, but will ensure workers receive sustainable wages, provide training opportunities, and offer bursaries and scholarships for civil servants' children.

The AMBO Media Fronts also stated that AMBO will not target or penalize labour union leaders involved in the ongoing local government crisis. The statement was signed by Adebayo Adedeji, Coordinator of AMBO Media Fronts.
