Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the leading aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) vying for the Osun State Governorship seat slated for the 8th of August, 2026 and now, former Managing Director/CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for the opportunity to serve Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Mr. Adebayo Adedeji, the coordinator AMBO Media Fronts, Oyebamiji, also known as AMBO, acknowledged the president's approval of his appointment as NIWA's substantive MD/CEO in October 2023, following Oyetola's recommendation. He highlighted his achievements during his two-year tenure, including a 70% reduction in deaths and accidents on Nigeria's inland waterways, enhanced safety awareness campaigns, and improved staff welfare.
Oyebamiji has now turned his attention to the 2026 Osun State governorship election, reaffirming his commitment to providing quality leadership and excellent service to the people of Osun. He expressed his vision for sustainable economic prosperity in the state and sought the support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the people of Osun State.
