The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has shut down an illegal mining operation in Ijaregbe, Ilesa, Osun State. The Southwest Mining Marshal team conducted the operation, forcing suspects to flee and abandon equipment.
The seized items include two excavators, seven pumping machines, and ten jerricans of diesel, which are being held as evidence.
The NSCDC continues to clamp down on illegal mining activities in the region.
